CHIGASAKI, Japan – October 14, 2026 – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and Nissan Motorsports & Customizing Co., Ltd. (NMC) participated in H.C.R. 2026, the 53rd International Home Care and Rehabilitation Exhibition & Forum, held at Tokyo Big Sight from October 7 to 9.
Nissan and NMC exhibited three Life Care Vehicles, including the Elgrand Slide-up Seat Concept, which was unveiled to the public for the first time.
Based on the all-new Nissan Elgrand, the concept features a powered left-side second-row seat that rotates and lowers outside the vehicle to support easier access for wheelchair users and people with limited mobility. It also features the Long Step, which can be used from both the front passenger door and the passenger-side sliding door.
The Elgrand concept attracted strong interest and gave NMC an opportunity to hear directly from visitors about accessibility, comfort, ease of use and premium mobility.
NMC also displayed the Serena Chair Cab Ramp Type in a two-wheelchair configuration and the Clipper Rio Chair Cab, demonstrating Life Care Vehicle solutions for a broad range of personal and care-facility needs.
Yutaka Sanada, President and CEO of NMC, said:
“Our Life Care Vehicles are designed to enable more people to enjoy mobility without compromising the experience of the vehicle itself. The strong interest in the Elgrand Slide-up Seat Concept reaffirmed the importance of combining accessibility with comfort, quality and the desire to travel. NMC will continue to pursue this balance to a high standard.”
NMC will continue applying its customization expertise to develop Life Care Vehicles that respond to diverse customer needs while preserving the comfort, quality and appeal of Nissan vehicles.
