NMC adds 4WD models to Atlas “Work Use Vehicle” series for standard driver’s license holders

August 28, 2026

Nissan Motorsports & Customizing Co., Ltd. (NMC) has updated selected models in its Nissan Atlas “Work Use Vehicle” lineup for standard driver’s license holders, while also adding new 4WD variants. The updated models go on sale in Japan through Nissan dealers from August 28.

Tail Lift Truck (vertical type), Dry Van, Insulated Van

As part of these updates, the 2WD models have been revised to comply with regulatory requirements, in line with the base vehicle, while 4WD variants have been newly added to the Tail Lift Truck and Dry Van. On 2WD models, the operating range of Pre-Crash Brake (PCB) when turning right or left has been expanded to include oncoming vehicles, helping reduce the risk of accidents at intersections. The electronic rear-view mirror now offers higher image quality, while an hour meter and a USB socket in the instrument panel are now standard, improving convenience for business use.

The “Work Use Vehicle” series lineup is as follows:

●Tail Lift Truck
Equipped with a lifter at the rear of the cargo bed, this model enables heavy loads to be handled safely and efficiently. Two types are available: a vertical type that provides stable lifting with minimal lateral movement, and an arm type that can smoothly raise and lower wider loads. The lineup now adds 4WD variants, together with double-cab versions for work applications requiring additional occupants.

●Dry Van
This model features an enclosed box-type cargo compartment. It eliminates the need for tarpaulins or ropes, while the sealed structure helps protect cargo from rain, wind, dust and direct sunlight. A 4WD variant has now been added to the lineup.

●Insulated Van
Designed to reduce the effect of outside temperatures on cargo during transport, this model uses insulation throughout the cargo compartment to help prevent significant temperature changes inside.

●Refrigerated Van / Freezer Van
These models are equipped with insulation and a refrigeration unit, allowing the cargo compartment temperature to be controlled. Refrigerated and freezer specifications are available to suit the appropriate transport temperature for different types of cargo. In addition to the existing standard-cargo versions, new small-cargo versions suited to small-lot and last-mile deliveries have been added.
